I love iGoogle - and my background
Jul. 26th, 2007 12:44 pmLast night I fell completely in love with the background of my iGoogle. iGoogle, for those not "in the know" is the new, customizable Google browser default you can setup and personalize. Granted a lot of the personalizations are presets that you select; however, I imagine that Google will, one day, allow lots more freedom for creating various other aspects of the page than just gadgets.
I chose for my background, initially, the city scape - since I was working in the city. It was pretty and throughout the day, the colors would change, depending on the inclination of the sun, etc. About a month or so ago, I changed the background to the little firefox (aka red panda) who goes about his day with his friends and does different things. Truth be told, I thought I had seen everything he did throughout the day until last night. This is what one of the daytime scenes looks like:

Last night I got shitty sleep - in fact, very little of it came my way. At about 8:30 PM after dinner and before Top Chef, I took a nap for, unfortunately, 1.5 hours. UGH! That means although my eyes were closed, sleep didn't find me till about 4:30 AM today. Happily, I'm not as tired as I thought I would be.

At about 3:30 or so, I decided to get online and do some arbitrary searches on pictures via Google. When I left my computer earlier at 1:00 AM, the little firefox had been stargazing, as his schedule dictates every night. It's so cute. He sits on his little porch/dock on his little pond and peers into the night sky of his little world. Across the way, there's a little firefly just beaming his butt light for all it was worth. The forest orchard is quite serene and looks safe and tranquil. At, I suppose, 3:00 AM, the scene changes, and I had never noticed it before. I don't stay up that late as I did when I worked for Pfizer till about 6-7 months ago. The little guy goes to sleep in a little sleeping bag on his porch/dock under the overhang of his little bungalow. It's so adorable! Google's developers even planned for this little guy to get a decent night's sleep amidst all the hubbub of his online life! How cute.
