Well, I got home really late last night / this morning from the bar. My buddy, Joe, and I went out as usual, and he drank too much. I had to drive his car home, and by the time we got back to my place, he was fine to drive the rest of the way. We had a blast, actually, in New Hope, PA. Before that, we went into NYC to see Gypsy, which was really, really cool. Bernadette Peters, the queen of Broadway, played the lead of Rose. The storyline was very interesting and tragic - a Vaudeville act washed up into the Burlesque scene... Good music, too... but I have to say that the seats in that theater were either built originally in the 19th century (when people were half our present-day size) or for Japanese audiences... much like the seats in the NYC subway system... waaaaaay too tight. She got a standing ovation; though she did do an excellent job, it's pretty much unclear whether the reason for it was her actual performance, or the tight seats and people wanting to get out of them!

It was freakin cold in the city yesterday, too. I've always found it fascinating how in NYC when you're walking straight toward a building, wind can come at you directly from the building. How does that happen? You'd think the wind would be funneled solely from the river into the pipes of the avenues and streets of the city, but odd little dirt devils pop up everywhere outta the blue, and wind comes at you from the buildings... Wind is a strange thing, as is life in general...
