A moment of holiday anxiety

This morning I woke up, showered, and checked my email as usual. The most prevalent email in my inbox was that of my itinerary for my Christmas flight to NC to visit my family.
For three weeks I had been planning my flight down for Dec 22 and the flight back for Dec 25 (I know, travelling on the actual holiday will suck, but somehow it'll be interesting to be with a unique crowd of folks all heading around the country for different reasons on THAT particular day). Each day the flight searches resulted in $288-priced fares. On a fateful day last week, I read an article with the headline, "Cheap holiday fares - A thing of the past" and then, on TV that night, heard the news reporter with her story at 11: "If you haven't booked it already, your cheapest fares might not be available." The bitch was right.
I got a $376 fare on Continental to NC for my Christmas flight (almost $100 higher within just a week!). This morning I noticed, though, that I'd clicked on the wrong departure time! I felt so stupid and immediately had a minor anxiety attack. 12 hours fewer with my family?? SACRILEGE!!
With 15 minutes before I had to leave, I called to have my departure time changed to 11:15 AM from 9:05 PM. God was merciful: There was no change fee! That made me happy and my anxiety was quelled.
