Nice people make my day
Nov. 30th, 2007 01:14 pmOn the way to the bus, I remembered that my wallet was in my other jacket, so I turned around, unlocked my door (for the second time), and changed coats. By the time I got down to the street, the two back-to-back buses that run at that time (8:00 AM) we already at my stop and pulling away - about a block away. I crossed the street quickly and thought, "Oh, he won't stop for me to get on, there's no way - plus, isn't it illegal? Wouldn't they get in 'trouble' for doing that?"
Nonetheless, I turned the opposite direction and ran and ran up the street in the hopes that the driver would see me and stop. The traffic light was red up ahead, so I figured I was in luck. The second bus was stopped, and since it was a double bus, I had to run a little further than I expected toward the front.
"Ugh!" I thought as I scrunched my face a little. The driver didn't see me round the corner of his bus.
The driver started pulling off toward the newly green light.
I kept running, but half-heartedly. I felt a little defeated until the brake lights came on and the bus doors opened.
"Oh, wow! Great!" I thought loudly.
Boarding the bus, I thanked the driver profusely and took my seat, which was a double seat that no one shared with me the entire trip into the city this morning. Nice people make my day.
(I'm sitting here mezmerized by my own GIF for this tag...)
