Dexter... strange dichotomy

The show is riveting and phenomenal. As an actor, Michael C. Hall (from NC!!) is fantastic. He starred in Six Feet Under and was wonderful to watch, but in this role, he's shining beyond imagination. However, I'm left (almost each night) with the fear that he'll get caught (in the storyline). He's a freakin' serial killer! The show makes us like him and understand where he's coming from. We get into his mind and accept what he's doing as the right thing... sometimes. Still he's killing people - people who cannot be rehabilitated because of their own issues. But Dexter's not a super hero, but rather a super villain who learned from the best of them (his father who was on the local Miami police force) how to dispose of bodies without traces, and keep things tidy and clean. He lives his life like that - thoroughly to a "T". It's strange going to bed feeling that things are "looking up for Dexter" now. I don't like that one bit. It's a desensitization of the Showtime audience watching that show, and for years I abhorred that sort of movie or show. Now I'm really into this show and it's no different - except that I saw the actor in a different role that piqued my interest at the outset and got the story and the interest/acceptance in there.
