There was this handsome daddy on the bus this morning - probably late 40s - shaved face. A furry chest, tight tank top under a light blue, obviously designer shirt with a double-headed eagle print on the back. He was sporting low-riding jeans, which had architected rips and wrinkles and frayed pocket edges, and a nice belt under a little beer belly. His titanium sunglasses were hung off the collar of the tank, and his pomade-laden salt and pepper hair was fingered back. Very strong profile, striking blue eyes, and about 6'1". I started texting a friend of mine about the scene who was asking me about him and what he was wearing and doing.

He was standing in front of where I was standing the entire trip into the city reading a book about the Iraq war or terrorism. He could have had better shoes, but the basket was fantastic! All of his jean's wrinkles and rips pointed to his basket, so it was hard to miss or look away.

The guy looked at me a couple of times, smiled a little, and nodded. I nodded back each time, of course. His phone rang a couple of times. The second time, he didn't answer it and I noticed we had the same phone (Motorola RAZR), but his casing was eletric blue, whereas mine is leather making my phone bigger, thicker in my pocket. I asked him if the blue was a casing. He replied, in an Alec Baldwin gruff voice, that it was a casing he got for $5 on Chambers and Broadway, ending his reply with a great, great smile - just when I mentioned that my cover made "it" (meaning my phone) much bigger. I believe my quote was, "Well mine makes mine that much bigger, but I like the size of yours." And that's when he smiled. Tee hee...
