Lemurs??? Drag queens???
Dec. 16th, 2008 12:34 amThe other night Matthew and I were watching HBO's Real Sex. This one was in four parts and one of the parts was about a strange wedding in San Francisco. I thought I had heard and seen some strange things in my life, but never these things - I must say, they topped the list and overshot my concepts of strange things people do for their wedding.
The girl, Princess Christie, was in love with "13", the lead singer and song writer (if you'd call it that) of a punk rock band called the Impotent Sea Snakes. Her quote of the night was, "The thing I most wanted in life was to find a cross-dressing rock singer that raised lemurs."
He, 13, followed her statement a little while later with, "She was a rock star; I was a rock star. We were both into lemurs - the sparks flew on both sides."
They were married at the Exotic Erotic Ball. There were tons of cross-dressers. Everyone at the wedding was in a costume of some sort, and many, many of the people were heavily into bod-mod. This was demonstrated by the ushers who had arm-length fish hooks hanging out of their backs and were then put on pulleys to swing on either side of the stage as if they were in flight.
The whole ceremony was how one might envision a wedding taking place in hell. Left me feeling very uneasy to say the least.
