It's really, really wet here today. Some people didn't even come in to the office today - and I heard that those people might be docked a vacation day since so many other people made it into the office!! I think that's a bit unfair, depending on where they live or if they have kids who couldn't go to school, etc. Just a thought. I didn't have to worry about flooding though - we're three stories above ground that's already on top of a mountain! The thing I was paying attention to was the Hudson River overflowing into Hoboken or WNY down below. The river was REALLY high when I was on the way to work.

I have started having nose bleeds this past week and it's really bothersome. So many people have told me, though, that it's nothing to worry about and that this building in particular does not have good circulation (there are a lot of people in this office apparently who have nose bleeds from time to time). I did some preliminary research into the nose bleed topic and they don't seem to be symptomatic of anything in particular except allergies, weak nose blood vessels, blowing one's nose too hard (I tend to ram the kleenex up my nose after I've blown it to get the "rest" of the snot out, which when left in there it bothers me... - and I've had minor nose bleeds from that in the past, but not prolonged ones), but nothing points directly to blood pressure related issues, which is good. Granted, I didn't do a specific search on HBP/nose bleeds... But it's so irritating to be sitting here at my desk and feel one coming on - usually in the early morning before leaving for work or going to a meeting, or late in the afternoon when I'm settling down from the day and getting ready to go home. Also, sometimes when I turn over at night, the pressure on my sinuses pops that weak little vessel and out it comes - I catch it before it really gushes, though, and run to the bathroom. I react to the nose bleeds now just like I do when I have a reflux attack - JUMP out of bed and DASH to the bathroom. Odd, though: after the night ones are over, I just stuff a Kleenex in my nose (right nostril only, actually!), and go right back to sleep. Don't think you'd ever get a nose bleed as humid as NC is and as frequently as you leave the windows open. I drink a lot of water during the day, and have ordered a personal humidifier for my desk. Isn't that a cute picture? Me sitting at my desk with a little space humidifier. LOL!
