Ferry Traffic On The Street
Apr. 25th, 2008 08:31 amOn my bus, we pass through Lincoln Harbor, which is between Hoboken and Port Imperial (Weehawken). There are a couple of nice condo buildings, a hotel, UBS, and a ferry station. The ferry let's off about 50 people at a clip, and instead of waiting for the vehicles to pass, the cops at that curve in front of the Hilton make everyone stop and the pedestrians cross. I guess if I were in the ferry foot traffic, I would be thankful to be guided across the street safely. Truly, it also doesn't take that long for them all to cross.
That is, unless you have someone who gets half way across the intersection and starts to go back to the ferry for her missing lipstick, decides against it, wants it, decides against it, wants it, and then FINALLY turns around to go to work because the ferry has just left with her lipstick rolling around on the floor. THAT extends the ferry traffic on the street by what feels like 2 minutes.
