Guilty Pleasure - NJ Housewives
May. 4th, 2010 03:25 amOK. They say that the first step to recovery is admitting that you have a problem. I have a TV problem and a reality TV problem to put it bluntly. But I'm not sure that I want to get rid of the problem. I love watching the depravity of others for some reason (I used to be drawn into the Jerry Springer Show, but never watched it on a regular basis); maybe it's to remind me that I'm blessed not to have their lives or depravity.
Or, maybe, because I don't have drama in my own life - and despise it in my own life - that I seek it out in others' lives. And, so what if we watch the "Real" Housewives of NJ? Don't hate.
The show came out swinging tonight. It really hit the mark! And then they showed scenes from upcoming episodes. The season looks phenomenal.
OK. Yes, it's shallow. But this is my only shallow thing: Reality TV.
Well, that and shopping. Oh, and mani/pedis. Oh, and tanning salons. Those are my only shallow things.
