He Uses KY To Screw America

Jim Bunning is the primary Republican senator who blocks everything - with no reason. He was pissed off tonight (because he missed a college basketball game!!) and decided to complain about "having to stay and block the jobs bill," which will help to deny unemployed folks ACROSS THE COUNTRY their COBRA... benefits as well as continued unemployment benefits. His constipation will lead to not only his state's continued problems with unemployment (KY has a higher rate of UI than the nat'l average!!!). This guy doesn't show up for work - with no explanation - misses out on crucial senatorial votes, and blocks bills left, right, and center - JUST BECAUSE HE WANTS TO, because he doesn't care! He reasoning, as quoted by other Republican senators was, "Tough Shit!" [about the bill or the suffering of the American people]. That attitude flies in the face of a progressive and growing nation.
By allowing extended benefits to expire, Jim Bunning has made sure that Congress has put the plans of a few hundred thousand unemployed Americans on hold.
