Stalling in the hallway
Mar. 31st, 2008 08:23 amWalking out the door this morning saying g'bye to my husbear, I spied with my little ey the crazy lady down the hall from us walking quickly toward the elevators.
This one is the same crazy lady who hangs out in the laundry room across from our condo - in the dark while nothing's in the wash - and creeps us the fuck out. She doesn't wash her hair and has the crazy wide-eyed look on her face all the time. She hangs out in the lobby of the building too and makes it look as if she's heading to the elevator, so you ask her if she's coming, but she looks defiantly in another direction and walks away from the elevator bank quickly. Oh and she smells.
Yea, I tried to stall in the hall, but didn't want it to be too obvious, so I walked slowly down the hallway to the elevators. She held the door for me, which was highly unusual. I suddenly pictured myself being thrown against the wall with her claws screeching toward my eyes. I did say, "Thank you," to her crazy stare, but didn't get a verbal response.
The door couldn't open fast enough, but the lobby greeted me warmly as I made my way to the bus for work.
