San Francisco - Here We Come!!

This morning because I was up and had nothing else to do, I listed out the things that we want to see and where we might want to go whilst in San Francisco. I'm not typically this pedantic, but I thought it would be helpful to figure out what sights we could chunk together from day to day.
If nothing else, because of the hard work invested in mapping this out in Google Maps (LOVE IT!!), I wanted to save it for future reference. It might also be a good guide for others interested in heading there.
Check it out
What's interesting is that this entire walking tour, as stated by Google Maps, looks like it won't take more than 7 hours!! That's an entire day!! Alas, Matt doesn't and will not walk very fast, and he is loathe to do San Francisco like I did London with a friend of mine a few years ago: We walked about 10 miles a day and took buses and the tube all over the place. I lost 10 pounds that trip!! Yeah, Matt doesn't wanna do that.
One day, I would really like to rent a car for a day and go to Monterrey and Carmel (if not also Pebble Beach) to drive around along with taking in the aquarium. We plan to take in Napa Valley to a degree, the Muir Woods, and Sauslito (cool boat trip), too.
Some friends of ours,
mindplay and
trckrfckr, and we are getting together for
mindplay's birthday dinner Tuesday - somewhere - and we're also hoping to catch up with
azbearchaser79,
pauliebearsf, and others - like college friends of mine and a buddy we met at Bear Week 08. The trip looks pretty packed overall. I feel as though we should have planned a few more days, but I hadn't planned the walking tour by the time I was planning the trip. If we don't do all the touristy things, that'll be fine. If we don't get to see everyone, well, that's just not an option!!
Travel Tip #1: When planning out your trip to a touristy destination, map out and consider all the things you want to do to make the trip worthwhile BEFORE you book your tickets and hotel.
